If you are looking for things to buy and not buy keeping reading below.
What to Buy this Month
You might not get another sale on Jewelry for a long time after this holiday Valentine’s day. February is also famously known as engagement season, so you will see a huge markdown the closest to the holiday and right after. On February 15th, expect a huge break in discounts, especially anything Valentine’s day specific. Christmas has already passed, so this is your second go-around for prices to go down. The next Jewelry sales to look forward to will be for Mother’s day.
Chocolates and Candy
I’m sure you’re used to this by now. The Valentine’s day stuff breakout on the shelf shortly after Christmas. Hershey’s chocolates everywhere, gourmet chocolate sets, heartshaped everything! I know getting these for the actual day will serve its main purpose, but if you’re a deal hunter like me, it’s super cheap right after the holiday. The retailers can’t wait to get these off the shelf to bring in more spring and summer products. Grab it while supplies last because they will be extremely discounted, plus chocolate can last longer frozen.
Suppose you were not able to grab one this past Black Friday or Christmas. Well, you’re in luck! February is all about the Superbowl, and you can glad to see alot of promotions on Flat Screen TVs. To add to your best entertainment experience, you will see other small electronics like audio equipment and cameras also go down in price. Once the game is over, you might not see another deal like these toward the end of the year again.
What not to Buy, Skip if you must
Believe me, I love flowers for Valentine’s day, but that doesn’t deny how much of a markup these flowers are just for this day! If you are trying to go frugal, another option will be chocolate or other sweets. Let’s say flowers just need to happen. Try getting a discount code for an online order, plan the delivery far in advance to avoid same-day delivery charges.
Try to stay away from smaller electronics like laptops, desktops, tablets, and video game consoles. You won’t be able to get a good price for these after Christmas has passed. The next best time is to ways for Back to School season. Another good time to buy these small electronics is during Prime Day sales, which Amazon holds in July.
What items go on Sale in February
Anything and everything that has to do with the Winter Season you will see go on clearance around this time. Space heaters, Winter sports equipment, boots are to name a few. So if you want to grab some early winter gifts or simply some extra winter clothes, this is going to be seriously marked down. I live in the North East, so even though it’s only February, we can have cold months all the way up to April. There will be deals on Coats, Scarves, Gloves. Stores are already started to released spring arrivals, so they are pushing all the winter goods out.
Presidents Day Sales
February is a short month, but boy, does it have alot of President birthdays. Besides Valentines Day, Presidents Day falls on Feb 15 shortly after. President day sales usually start early on the Thursday week before; most call it Presidents Weekend deals. You can expect good deals on mattresses, home goods, small kitchen appliances, appliances bedding, and furniture too. Most of the retailers with the best deals I just mentioned are at Mattress Firm, Macy’s, Overstock, Lowe’s, and Home Depot.
Even though Valentine’s day is mainly about gifts, I’m sure you can still catch a deal on a bunch of other things. I know you have come to know me well enough to say, “she is all about deals” yes, I love them. There’s an exciting feeling when you feel like you almost got something for less than 50% off the price. I want to share that excitement with you. So if you find anything or buy anything for a great deal, please share. Let’s celebrate together.
