What to buy and to (Skip) in June?

Everyone is anxious to go to the beach, or sit by the pool with the warm weather approaching us soon. Since a lot of Covid restrictions are still in place, online shopping still will be a thing, but there are plenty of good deals to pick up this month. There might be more stay-cations in your own backyard than you chose to, but still it’s all about family and fun. Even though Summer season doesn’t really begin until 6/21/2021, everyone is screaming that schools are out!  All the summer activities can really eat away at your budget, especially if you have some kiddies. From the swimwear, to the summer clothes, then the theme park, the beach. One thing is having kids at home, is yes they will get bored easily and yes they will be eating you out of the house and home! So how can we save money this month? You have come to the right place, What to buy and what to not buy in June.

What to Buy

Spring Clothing

Warmer climate and summer season approaching, stores have already stocked their summer styles. On the sale, the rack would be any remaining Spring apparel. You can still get away with some lightweight shirts or pants, for those cooler nights. Or you can save on some Spring jackets for next year’s rainy season. Deals will probably be up to 50% or more on Spring fashions. Get them while they last!

Victoria Secret Semi-Annual Sales happens twice a year, once in winter and then in Summers. You can save on bras and panties typically around this time in June.  It lasts for up to three to four weeks with savings of up to 50% on lingeries, 60% on sportswear and swimsuits in addition to free-shipping offers. Since you might be shopping online mostly this year, sign up for the email list on their site to not miss out on the sale.  The sister companies with Victoria’s Secret Limited brands, like Bath & Body Works usually do Sales at the same time. Bath & Body Works often run a Semi-annual sale in June, I would check their site as well.

Father's day gifts

Father’s Day Gifts

Father’s day is on June 20th this year and a lot of stores are looking to launch sales a week or two prior to that holiday. Be on the look out for a lot of Dad’s Deals the closer you get to the actual day the more savings you might get. Department stores like  Macy’s JCPenny might have clothing deals and fragrance gift sets. In relation to Father’s Day there will be a lot of deals on Tools and hardware. From Retailers like Home Depot, Lowes to even Amazon.  There will be offers on toolsets and any other items so Dad can do some handy work.

Cookware and Cutlery

June is the beginning of the wedding season, so you will see lots of deals on cookware and other typical wedding gifts. Another reason to buy gifts around this time is Graduation. Wedding season and Graduation time most people purchase items for the place of home. A symbol for a new life transition.  Retailers are already anticipating the gift giving shoppers so you will see discounts on cookware and cutlery from Macys, Crate and Barrel, William Sonoma and JCPenny. For the Grads, checkout Target, and Walmart. One of my favorite gift shopping stores for couples is Bed Bath and Beyond, you can find sales for kitchen supplies and dishware.

In season fruits and vegetables for june

In-Season Fruits and Veggies

It’s always better to buy produce when they are in season. June is a big one for Fruits, summer time and a lot of Fruit salads. The in-season Fruits include apricots, blueberries, cantaloupe, cherries, kiwi, mangoes, peaches, strawberries, and watermelon.  For Veggies look for cheaper corn, Swiss chard, and zucchini, as well.

What to Skip

Air Conditioners

Yes, it’s hot, and it’s only going to get Hotter. So if you’re trying to grab an A/C it’s a slight chance you can get something cheaper at the beginning of the month. Just running off of the May’s deals, the longer you wait, high demand kicks in and so does the price increase. If it doesn’t bother, I wouldn’t mind looking at some refurbished ones on Amazon for a good price. Even at a local, good decent Pawn Shop in your town. Don’t forget to check out Facebook Marketplace or Craigslist. If you can buy used electronics from those places, an A/C wouldn’t hurt to check out.

Even though we are in a summer month, and are waiting to Grill outside. This is why you might not get a good price this month, because of higher demand. More people wanting to buy means higher prices. If you can hold off till someone near the 4th of July, you can grab a holiday sale. Barbecue season is already kicking off, so if you’re desperate to find a good deal, make sure you do your research. Shop online and do some comparison prices, price match it and get it at a discount.

I know you might be itching to buy some new electronics since it’s been a while since you saw some deals. I’m pleading with you to hold on just a little longer at least until Amazon Prime Day. Prime days will be announced, so keep your eyes peeled if you have Amazon Prime already.  Prime Day is good for deals on TVs, Computers, Tablets, Smart Home Tech, and more. I wouldn’t be surprised if Amazon’s competition Walmart and or Target would be showing the same deals.  If you can’t score deals on that day, it’s best for the Back to School season to begin. Back to School deals include most of all electronics, maybe not so much on TVs.
