Choose to go for floral scented candles as the Royals have been known in history to surrounded with tons of flowers. In those days having tons of floral arrangments was suppose to mask the smell of insufficient hygiene and smelly rooms of the castle.

Take a Bath

In Royal history, the richest bathed with essential oils and floral petals. Taking a shower routine was not heard of at that time but there still something soothing about taking a nice bath. Warm bath water with Epsom salt can soothe aching muscles and alleviate pain. My favorite product for this is Dr. Teal’s Pink Himalayan Bath salt.

Toss in a bath bomb for bubbletastic luxury bath. This is a great way to give added moisture to the skin. Some bath bombs already have some essential oil infusions to soften the skin. Add in some drops lavender oil or rosehip oil for apothecary benefits and a night of restful sleep.

Prepped your bath session with a mixture of essential oil and body scrub. A quick rub down before you get in the tub to get rid of dead skin cells. Removing dead skin will initiate good cell turnover for newly soft skin.

“Make your own Bath Bomb”

Ingredients list:

  • 1 cup baking soda
  • 1/2 cup citric acid
  • 1/2 cup Epsom salt
  • 1/2 cup cornstarch
  • coloring pigment – optional (use gel colorant for less water)
  • 2 1/2 tablespoons almond oil – or melted coconut oil
  • 3/4 tablespoon water
  • 12-15 drops essential oil
  • Bath bomb molds (metal molds or plastic molds)

Step by Step Instructions:

  • Grab a medium-size bowl and mix together all of the dry ingredients. Adding color is optional but I recommend using gel colorant to keep it from fizzing. Less water is best at this stage. Whisk together until you reached you desired color.
  • Take another separate smaller bowl and mix together the wet ingredients.
  • Slowly add the wet ingredients to the dry bowl mixture. Be very slow in mixing because you don’t to activate the fizzing just yet. (save that for the bath, lol) Once it’s combine it should look like wet sand.
  • Take your mold and each side packing the mixture slightly over the edge. Press both of the halves together firmly. Let the molds rest for a minute then gently pull them apart. Allow the bath bombs to dry for 24 hours before you use them.
  • If you don’t have metal molds you can use measuring cups or cupcake molds.

Try a Face Mask

You know the saying put your best face forward. A Queen’s facial care is part of her daily routine. Back in those days all queen’s tried their best to look youthfull. A hydrating face mask is great way to have a facial at home.

Still famous in France, Marie Antoinette was known to have a signature face mask with consisted of the following ingredients, two teaspoons of cognac, one egg white, one-third of a cup of powdered milk and the juice of one lemon blended into a paste. The acidity for the lemon would help dissolve dead skin cells and tighten pores. The cognac stimulates circulation and the egg repairs skin tissue.

Massage your Body with Lotion

Moisturizing is key for a rich looking body. As women are known to show there age by hands, the historical Queens were hip to this tip. Many Queen’s including Marie Antoinette was known to wear wax gloves filled with essential oils. This would reveal soft supple hands. Also they were gloves with the same oils to moisturize. Now that you have given yourself a “queenly” glow with the face mask, now it’s time for the body.

The young Princess Marie-Olympia of Greece mentioned that she does not wear perfume, in fact, she uses just Amazing Grace by Philosophy cream. A light and airy fragrance in a body whip cream giving your skin the moisture it needs.

Another one of the royal’s favorites is a very riched body lotion by Nivea. 5. Meghan Markle has told “BeautyBanter” that her favorite lotion on the market is Nivea Skin Firming Hydration Body Lotion. As she quotes –” I use this religiously. It’s honestly my favorite lotion on the market, it’s so affordable, and makes my skin look and feel amazing.
