Most people think it’s difficult to save money at Target. Even though there is little pricer, in my opinion, than the other stores you can coupon at, you can still make out saving a ton of money. Is it possible to pay little to nothing? Yes, because Target offers so many tools to help you save money in the store. The point is to shopping smarter with a plan and uses the tips I’m going to explain below. Let’s make shopping at Target another win!
*Make sure to check out Target’s Coupon policy
The Target RedCard helps you save 5% on Target purchases. Save 5% on every Target purchase either instore or online; as a RedCard member, you get an additional 30 days for returns. Extra benefits include a 5% discount off instore Starbucks purchase, already clearance price items, and Specialty gift card purchases at Target. To sign up for the RedCard, you can do it instore or online.
You have two funding options, either linking it up to your checking account like a debit card or signing up for a credit card. Load the RedCard to your Target app’s wallet to pay and get cashback. Having the cashier scan the barcode during checkout is just a quick in and out shopping trip, no need to swipe your card in the machine.
Where do you find the coupons?
Target app has a membership called The Target Circle Program; most of the features are on the app. Download the app, so you don’t miss out on any deals or savings. Target Circle has both store coupons and manufacturer coupons on the app. When you are ready to check out, the offers are accumulated into a barcode to scan at the register. Like other retailers where I’ve couponed, the store coupon can be used with a manufacturer coupon.
Target allows you to stack coupons with a Target coupon, manufacturer’s coupons along with Target Circle offers. You can view the weekly ad on the app and any sales or promotions that are currently active. Some of the exclusive savings include 1% cashback on all your Target purchases, 5% off your entire purchase for your birthday. You can check out the total of your earnings under “Earnings Benefits” in your app and use them to save when you check out.
Save more money with Rebate Apps
Rebate apps like Ibotta or Fetch Rewards can help you save even more money. Ibotta earns dollars, and Fetch Rewards you redeem points. For Ibotta, you can scan the app items while you are shopping in the store to see if they match. Ibotta allows you to link your Target card on the app so you can easily earn rewards without scanning receipts. Before you head into the store, check all the offers you want cashback on. If your cards are not linked, then you would have to scan your receipt manually.
Fetch Rewards only has scan receipt no card linking yet but make sure you claim credit for every purchase you make. On Fetch, you earn points on any receipt, whether there is an offer matched or not. Check out exclusions of type of retailers or purchases on the app. Get cashback after you reach your threshold—each app of different cashout methods and threshold amounts. Check out each one to get more information.
